As I said above, we stayed at the Bluewater Resort & Marina which is a Spinnaker Resort in Hilton Head, South Carolina.  For us, this resort is perfect because it is literally 10 minutes from everything!  The outlets, beach, other shopping strips, etc.  The most amazing thing about it is that my family lives about 5-10 minutes from there!  It’s nice because it is our annual tradition to go to Hilton Head and this resort was nothing short of amazing.

Transportation: Many people that fly into Hilton Head usually get flights to the Savannah Georgia airport.  Then you would just drive 45 minutes to get to Hilton Head.  I flew 2 years ago and it’s only about an hour and a half/2 hour flight from Philly.  You could also fly into Hilton Head Airport but it’s usually soooo expensive.  We decided to drive which is about 11-12 hours.  I have a love/hate relationship with this drive.  I love the sights and stopping at South of the Border but when you want to just be on vacation it takes forever lol.

Pool: I relaxed by the pool everyday.  My nephews were with us so we had to go to the pool everyday.  The pool is the center focal point of the resort.  The thing I loved about the pool was that it is “wave pool style”.  The shallowest part is 1 foot and it only goes up to 4.5 feet and then turns into a lazy river!  There is also a jacuzzi.

Beach: Of course when you go to Hilton Head you have to visit the beaches.  Although we mainly stayed on the resort for entertainment, we went to Singleton Beach one day.

Room: We stayed in a 2 bedroom 2 bathroom condo.  One of the bedrooms had a king bed and the other had 2 twin beds.  The beds were sooooo comfortable I can’t even put it into words.  Zero problems sleeping and it felt like we were sleeping on clouds.  The bathrooms were amazing!  The condos are new so we may have been the first people to stay there.  Our condo was so spacious and had a balcony with the most gorgeous view to the lagoon and lake behind us.  I went out to the balcony every morning to just take in being their and do get some work done.

Food: Most nights my wonderful mom cooked us dinner.  I would make breakfast in the morning.  Our first night there we got the most delicious pizza from Guiseppi’s Pizza in Bluffton.  Seriously so good . My mom and I also got salads from there one day after shopping.  At some point we made it over to our favorite, Stacks, for breakfast. I talked about them in my Hilton Head Guide post.  For our last family dinner we decided on Reilley’s Grill & Bar.  It was about 10 minutes from the resort.  I can’t rave about the place because it was just basic bar & grill food but nonetheless a great atmosphere.  There is so much great food whenever you go to Hilton Head.  Just make sure you get a Low Country Boil, they are amazing!

Shopping: Hilton Head is kind of known for being a “retirement town” and there is plenty of shopping for it. Spinnaker Resort is about 8 minutes away from the Tanger Outlets.  I checked as soon as we got onto the island lol.  There were also tons of strip malls in between.  If you want to venture out, there is another Tanger Outlets in Savannah Georgia about an hour away.  They have a couple different stores than the ones in Hilton Head.  Another popular shopping spot is Belk which I would say is like Macy’s.  A super popular brand in Hilton Head…Lilly Pulitzer.  We also went to T.J. Maxx and Ross.

In conclusion, y’all know I’m obsessed with Hilton Head and love it.  One day, I would love to have a second home here.  I basically spent majority of my childhood summers there so it has a special place in my heart.  Will there be another trip there this year, you betcha.  I plan on finding new places to go to and others that I didn’t have time for, like the lighthouse!

Let me know if you have any other questions in the comments and I’ll get back to you.
