First Wedding Anniversary Trip: Sonesta Baltimore

First Wedding Anniversary Trip: Sonesta Baltimore

Happy Friday! Today I’m going to share our first wedding anniversary trip with you all. As many of you may know, Sheldon and I just had our first wedding anniversary! I can’t believe it’s already been a year. In my mind I wanted to take a big trip but then I had to come back down to earth since we leave for Disney in two weeks. Back to square one. I’ve worked with Sonesta in the past and was thinking maybe a trip to their new Arizona location…..still too far. Then the Baltimore location popped up on my Instagram feed…BINGO!

Location

Next thing I know, we are making arrangements to head down to the Baltimore location for our trip and I am so happy we did. First off, let’s not forget that Baltimore is only a short hour and a half drive from Philly. That was the first thing we noticed once we got there…”Why don’t we come here more often?” Once we got to the hotel we realized that it was in a prime location…right on the harbor! I should have known given the name of the hotel but it’s just breathtaking to see in person.

Romper

Since we were right on the harbor, we had plenty of things to do. There are a ton of shops, places to eat and so many activities in the harbor. I’ll touch more or everything we did in my travel guide post but the convenience of the hotel’s location was perfect. Especially if you are going to Baltimore to be a tourist. I seriously could not stop taking pictures every five minutes.

Room with a view!

Just look at this amazing view that we woke up to everyday! We stayed in one of the harbor side rooms and it did not disappoint. The room combined two of my favorite things; a great view and view of the water.

Dinner at Explorers Lounge

On our first night we ate at the hotel’s Exlorers Lounge. Explorers is located on the second floor of the hotel. For my appetizer I got fresh corn and crab chowder. For my meal I went with the salmon with mashed potatoes and Brussels sprouts. Sheldon got the crab flatbread with French fries.

Recreational Activities

Swimsuit

I have to share that the Sonesta Baltimore has not only a fitness room but an indoor swimming pool, indoor racquet courts and outdoor tennis courts! Many of you may not know this but I’ve played tennis my whole life. I really should write about this more. Anyway, when researching the hotel property, I was very excited to find out they have tennis courts. Even though we had great weather the whole weekend, having an indoor pool is always a great option. The pool water was heated too and that’s always a plus in my book.

Amazing Hospitality

First Wedding Anniversary Trip

Sheldon and I both worked as bartenders and I worked in the restaurant industry for many years. Nothing ever beats great hospitality. I feel like the Sonesta team just always goes above and beyond to make sure you feel comfortable and are enjoying your stay. The first day we were greeted with wine, cheese, fruit AND a card!

My pajamas

We absolutely loved our stay and couldn’t think of a better place to spend our first wedding anniversary. According to Sheldon we need to go back more and that’s exactly what I intend to do! I will be doing a full detailed review of the hotel so stay tuned for that. Have a great weekend!
