Happy Friday! I am so excited to share with y’all my trip to see the PA Ballet World Premiers performances. You may or may not know this but I grew up dancing from the age of 3. Any time that I get an opportunity to see the PA Ballet perform I take it! World Premiers ran from November 7th through the 10th at the Merriam Theater here in Philly. The production featured three never before seen works from Garret Smith, Juliano Nunes and Yin Yue. The ballets were also created on and especially for the PA Ballet dancers.
A few weeks back I took Sheldon with me to see the PA Ballet perform Don Quixote. Since he went with me then he was “off the hook” this time and I took my mom instead. We had such a great time. The grace and athleticism for the dancers was purely beautiful. Everything was perfect from the costume choices and color to the backdrop.
Since I typically see the PA Ballet perform their traditional ballets, it was nice to see a different style in contemporary. The strength and emotion of the performances really resonated with me and I am so glad to have been able to experience it.
Now that I’ve seen World Premiers I am so ready for the next performance, The Nutcracker. After performing in The Nutcracker for so many years, seeing it has become an annual tradition. Plus it really gets me in the mood for Christmas!
