Happy Monday friends! Apologies for the late post but I needed to get some additional photos for today’s post. As you can see, this is my West Laurel Hill Derby Party 2017 Recap. We (my mom and I) had the best time once again. My girl Kate of Philly PR Girl always has the best events in Philly! Let’s get started with the day.
We always get a picture under this gorgeous arch which is at one of the entrances of the Conservatory of West Laurel Hill. In true southern hospitality, the first thing I see is the Mint Julep station! Of the red raspberry, blueberry, strawberry and orange options, I chose the traditional mint. You can never go wrong (unless you don’t like bourbon). Next to that station were fashion illustrations by Denise Fike. Umm she’s amazing. We literally stood for about 10 minutes maybe less and she drew these beautiful illustrations!
The event was just a great time. I always enjoy the band. Playing true southern music which got a couple of us to dance I felt right at home. My mom and I got into the Instashack photo booth, rode the horse-drawn carriages and of course we watched the race. By the way, my horse wasn’t even close to being a winner haha.
This little cutie that I’m pictured with is Pete. He was seriously the sweetest horse, super photogenic lol and he keep nudging me when I pet him.

I think the best part about the event was winning best dressed! It was special since my mom won last year. I feel like I made her proud lol. My prize, a gift certificate to get a facial or massage! I haven’t had a facial before so maybe that’s what I will use it for.
