Merry Christmas Eve! OMG y’all don’t know how excited I am for this dining room reveal! I am so proud of this room as I have been working really hard to get our house together. We’ve been here a month but it feels like we’ve been here forever…it feels like home. That was my goal moving into this house, unpack and decorate to enjoy just living. We are pretty happy with how everything has gone, although I have still got my heart set on getting BarnabyLane Leather Armchairs for the dining room in the future.
Anyway on to the room. As with any room, the first thing you need to think of is your color scheme and/or theme. I cannot emphasise the importance of looking at different interior design websites to get some inspiration from places like Marchant Home Furnishing who have so many products to look through, I could spend hours looking! I do love the look and feel of French farmhouses so that is what I stuck to. The French farmhouse look is a style that combines distressed finishes with flea-market-inspired furniture for a result that’s comfortable yet chic. For our house, the emphasis is more on “chic”. Now, let’s talk about my beautiful rug from Rugs U.S.A.
When I picked this rug out for the dining room, I knew my decor had to work with it in some way. I love contrasting colors so I knew white and gray would look great against the hardwood floors. The rug also gives the room a little extra something. Our dining room set match and fit just perfectly with the rug! My vision comes to life!
Now on to the tablescape which really breathe life into the table and bring everything together. Since tomorrow is Christmas, I felt no sense in doing a Christmas tablescape. If you look behind me on our storage cube though, you will see my seasonal snowman. So yes, the first thing I thought of was greenery. It’s a theme that I have throughout the house. I love eucalyptus and knew I wanted garland on the table. Imagine my excitement that eucalyptus comes in garland form!
Next it was on to some more greenery but in a different shade to contrast. I had these laying around and made a floral arrangement as our centerpiece. To break up all of the green the pine cones make a great statement. For the place settings I originally wanted these (which I still may get for the Summer) but found these burlap chargers in Hobby Lobby for way cheaper. Plus I love the color contrast and rustic feel!
So what do y’all think of our dining room!?
Thanks for reading!
