2024 Emmy’s Fashion Hits & Misses. Y’all, I am trying to get better at sharing cool things I do here on the blog. I feel like I usually end up posting them after the fact but that stops today. In 2024, I am going back to the basics of writing on my blog. That said, on Tuesday January 16, I stopped by NBC Philadelphia for a fashion segment on Philly Live. Our topic: 2024 Emmy’s Fashion Hits & Misses. I love these segments because it’s all based on opinions and we are talking about fashion.
Since I truly love watching behind the scenes, I shared a behind the scenes video of what goes into filming a fashion segment. First, the producer comes in to give you a run down of the show. Then you get ready. You can come ready which makes things easier or get ready there. Depending on the time and possibly network you are on, you actually do your own hair and makeup. Honestly this is my preferred way anyway. Even when I danced for the Sixers and they would offer hair and makeup for the bigger games, I always did my own (shhh).
Next I get mic’d up and then it’s show time. The award show fashion hits & misses are one of my favorite fashion segments to do. They are pretty straightforward and quick.
Hits
- Ayoe Debiri in custom 3D Louis Vuitton
- Sam Richardson in Grayscale
- Hannah Waddenham in custom Marchesa
- Sheryl Lee Ralph in custom Ciriano
- Honorable mention to Jessica Chastain in Gucci because that dress was EVERYTHING!
Misses
- Kathryn Hahn in Christian Dior coutour
- Ali Wong in Louis Vuitton
- Quinta Brunson in Dior Haute Couture – I did not enjoy the wrinkled look even though it was intentional
- Suki Waterhouse in Valentino
I always have a great time with Aunyea when we film together. As always, thanks NBC Philly Live for having me.
