It’s MY BIRTHDAY!!! Judging by the name of this post we know how old I am today lol. Thank you all for the love that has been poured out thus far. Let’s get started with 30 things I am thankful for.
- My HUSBAND!!! Y’all, I have a Husband!!! Saying that gives me all the feels! Fiancé was one thing but to call Sheldon my husband is truly a blessing.
- My family
- My animals
- Waking up today (and everyday)
- My job and my blog. I wrote it down a couple of years ago after reading The Secret and Maximum Achievement. I always said that I wanted to go to work everyday and love my job. No things aren’t perfect but I can honestly say I love my job. I love my blog and everything that y’all have helped make it to be.
- My health. Something I’m sure we all take for granted. It is such a blessing to wake up everyday free from pain, discomfort, in your right mind. It’s almost as if we expect this. Seeing others in pain and going through so many things really put your own health in perspective for you. I’m thankful everyday for this.
- My dance background. I can’t tell y’all how thankful I am that my parents enrolled me into dance at the age of 3. Grace, discipline (physically and mentally), self-confidence are all things that dance has done for me and continues to do for me.
- Stepping out of my comfort zone. Speaking of dance, one thing I always wanted to learn how to do was salsa. I was so intimidated at how flawless everyone looked dancing. And then there was me…this stiff ex-ballerina lol. Needless to say, over the last couple of months I’ve been taking lessons and social dancing more and feel so much better about my abilities. I’ve really grown to love salsa! Also more than just dancing but in life I am thankful for stepping out of my comfort zone.
- Perseverance. I don’t think I would have done half the things I have in my life if it weren’t for perseverance.
- My relationship with my mom. Seriously I wish I could take back every time I was a complete a-hole to my mom growing up. Ladies, our teen years weren’t our finest. But I’m thankful everyday for how our relationship has grown. How I can call my mom anytime or do anything with her.
- My dad. Literally the best man on the planet. This guy has done so much for me and continues to do so (without making my husband jealous 😉 ).
- My brother. Y’all don’t hear about him much but he’s my one and only sibling. Love you Bosch.
- My new family! The bonus to marrying Sheldon is that I gained two sisters, another mom and a niece!
- Living in Philly. I couldn’t think of a better city to be able to share with you all. So much culture and passion (and food), such an underrated city that more people need to know and learn about. BTW, Go Birds!
- Our apartment. Honestly we love our apartment. This will probably be our last year in it and we keep saying how we wish we could just pack it up and move elsewhere.
- My travel experiences and upcoming ones.
- My ability to have a voice and influence. It’s so important to have a voice. It’s even more important to use your voice when you have some sort of influence. Whether it’s life advice, a travel guide, fashion advice or help wedding planning, I love that I have some sort of influence. If I help someone along the way then I have done my job.
- ALL of my collaboration opportunities. No matter how big or how small, paid or unpaid.
- Music. Don’t judge but I just started putting music on my iPhone…welcome to 2018 Davida lol. Anyway, I’ve been enjoying finding new music on Spotify and downloading new songs. I’m thinking of sharing my Summer Playlist with y’all.
- I’m so thankful for YOU! Y’all that come back to this blog everyday or however often and actually take the time to read my words. It’s such an honor and a privilege.
- Setbacks and disappointments. Until you can accept and learn from your setbacks and disappointments, you won’t truly grow. You won’t be able to fully appreciate what you have now and look back on where you came from.
- Love. It gives life meaning.
- My friends. Friendships are some of the most important relationships you will have with people in life, cherish them as I cherish each and every one of mine. Love you guys!
- Summer time! Summer time holds a special place in my heart because I was born in the Summer and now have gotten married in the Summer. Also, who doesn’t like warm weather…amiright!?
- Going on a honeymoon. Not taking the ability to go on a honeymoon right away for granted at all. Nowadays it’s more of a privilege to be able to do so.
- Amazon Prime. Need I say more.
- Sparkling Rose.
- Being open-minded.
- Our AMAZING Wedding! I can’t wait to share more about it. Everything was absolutely perfect.
- Discovering podcasts. Seriously, where have I been!?
Ending this post saying a huge thank you to Kate from Philly PR Girl and her whole team for allowing me to shoot this post in their newest space Photo Pop Philly! They are open until Labor Day weekend so definitely give them a visit!
