6 Wardrobe Staples For Work. Now even though I make outfit videos and give styling tips, I’m a huge fan of wardrobe staples. If it weren’t for making the videos my closet would only consist of wardrobe staples and a few pops of color. I don’t live my life that way but admire those that do. Anyway, here are 6 wardrobe staples for work that will make feeling put together easier.
Trench Coat
Trench coats are great because they are literally seasonless. You will get the most out of purchasing one because it doesn’t matter where you live or the weather. If you invest in one you will truly have it for years, season after season.
Versatile Blazer
For the examples here I chose neutral options but you can also choose a great plaid blazer. The last post I did styling a blazer was this one. I think I am due for another. That was an example using my plaid blazer but a black one will take you a long way. The great thing about them, you can wear them with anything; joggers, a dress, jeans, trousers, the list goes on.
Carry All Bag
Back in the day I had a reversible tote that I got from Old Navy. I loved it because it was a 2-in-1 and we love getting more for our money. I did find one similar here. This exact tote is sold out but I love it and found a couple similar options if you are interested. All different specs and price points. For work, a great carryall tote or backpack is great for carrying all of your essentials. You should get one that can at least fit a laptop or iPad/tablet.
Comfy Trousers
Raise your hands if you sit at a desk all day… There is nothing worse than wearing a pair of uncomfortable pants. Trousers for work are great because there are brands out there now that you can literally find pants that feel like pajamas. I love a more relaxed fit like this pair.
Comfy Heels
Woof, the topic of heels is an old one. The older I get I realize that when it comes to dressing, comfort is a top priority followed by quality. I am OBSESSED with these heels! I got them years ago on Amazon and they are favorite, most comfortable and most worn heel. Originally I had them in nude and quickly snagged the black ones. My only complaint is that they don’t come in flat leather instead of this shiny one. But that’s nothing I can’t get past.
Office Appropriate Dress
Yes I realize that this dress might not be the perfect one for this example because it’s sleeveless. I just wanted to show the dress because it’s super comfortable and could work if you put a blazer cardigan or duster over it like I did with the gold one.
Hopefully this gives you some ideas on items to purchase for your work wardrobe. Again, these pieces are staples. They are great t to invest in since you will wear them over and over again.
