There are so many reasons I love Philly and Center City District Sips is one of them. For those that have never been to the city, prepare for the awesomeness. It’s just another reason why you should #visitphilly.
First off, what is Center City District Sips?
It’s a summer long event in which participating bars and restaurants host happy hour every Wednesday from 5-7pm. During these happy hours, catch up with friends, meet some new and enjoy discounted drinks and appetizers. The best part is how helpful the internet is. You can visit centercityphila.org to get a complete list of bars and restaurants.
What is the Center City District Sips Style?
This year the Center City District (CCD) is including a style portion called “CCD Sips Style”. For the first time, Center City retailers are invited to join the season’s festivities. The CCD Sips Style Guide is presented by American Express.
What does all of this mean for me?
In partnership with the Philadelphia Retail Marketing Alliance, stores and salons will offer promotions, samples or discounts every Wednesday before Sips! From hair blows outs to free gifts with purchase and in-store cocktails. What’s the point…um get glam before happy hour…no brainer! Ladies, you know when you go out the first thing you ask your girl is “What are you wearing?” If you don’t then I can tell you my girlfriends and I do this, especially during Sips.
For the entire Summer I will be your fashion resource. Myself and my stylish male counterparts, Alex and Mike, are the style ambassadors for CCD Sips! Sips takes place every Wednesday starting on June 7th at 5 pm at participating restaurants and bars. Also, be on the look out every Tuesday before Sips. I will be giving “Sips Style Tips” on my social media handles. Basically I’ll be your friend sharing what I would wear to Sips, give ideas on what you should wear and the best Center City stores and boutiques to shop at!

As the style ambassadors, we will attend select Sips in various locations looking for great Sips style! If you want to get noticed, post a photo of you and your friends in your best Sips Style with #CCDSipsStyle. Check back at ccdsips.com each week to see if your style picture makes it to the site! At the end of the season, 2 winners will be selected from at the #CCDSipsStyle posts to win a shopping spree at Center City shops, a gift from Effen Vodka, and dinner at a Center City restaurant.
