There’s no time like the present and I’m here to talk about hosting a blogger event. Last night I had the privilege to host a blogger event for local area bloggers. If I missed anyone please forgive me as there are so many people to contact. If you were unable to attend the event you truly missed some great stuff. Fret not, I plan to do this more often, make it bigger and better. I will share a couple of things that we shared and things to help better prepare for next time.
We’re all in this together
*Queue “High School Musical” theme song* Seriously though, at the end of the day there are so many bloggers out there that talk about togetherness but honestly see everyone as competition. There is enough for everyone and we should be there for each other and help each other.
We share the same struggles and frustrations
One thing that I wanted for everyone that attended to get out of this meet up was for it not to be like other blogger events. I won’t get too much into it because you need to come to an event to really find out everything. It’s so nice to talk with people in your line of work about work. Especially in the blogosphere when many times you feel alone.
Getting back to the basics
We played some games and shared stories about why we started blogging and our first campaigns. That is so refreshing and humbling because as bloggers we are so focused on “the next thing” that we never take the time to just stop. Really stop and look at how far you have come. Whether you have 1 follower (hi Mom) or 1 million.
Life happens
Hosting an event is stressful, hosting a “closed” event is even more stressful. I know that I have to get better at getting contacts from every single blogger I know. I don’t want any fellow local bloggers to not feel included. My goal was to reach out to all of you that I know (or don’t know).
The hard part is over
The hardest part is done. I got one under my belt. We all learned something and I plan to make future blogger events bigger and better.

If you were unable to attend yesterday or did not know about the event, I plan on doing another one soon. Hopefully before the holidays come. Also if you wanted to go but didn’t hear about it or heard last minute, send me an email with your info so I can keep you posted. I’m super excited to get something going with the blogging community and hope you are too! Again, huge thanks to Samantha’s Boutique in Cherry Hill for letting us use your space. Also, big thanks to my attendees. I appreciate it more than you will ever know and can’t wait for more!
