One thing I’ve learned over the years of blogging is layering up!  Listen, it’s not worth it (all the time) to wear no clothes in zero degree weather for the shot.  I will admit, I usually freeze for holiday pictures and Valentine’s Day shots but that’s different.  Yes as bloggers we brave the elements to give the best outfit inspiration as possible (at least I try to).

With an impending wedding approaching, balling on a budget and being a savvy shopper, I’m all for getting the most out of my wardrobe.  One way to do this is by layering pieces in your closet in unexpected ways.  Take this denim dress for example.  When I originally got it, I thought about wearing it by itself.  It was too plain though, I needed more.  So the first time I wore it was in this post.  Surprisingly I loved the look of shirt underneath the dress.  I knew this time I wore it I needed a pattern or print to spice things up a little.

Naturally I chose to throw on my favorite print.  Leopard is basically a neutral in my eyes.  To be even more warm, I added my favorite turtleneck from Old Navy.  You literally can never go wrong with this turtleneck!  Now, throw on your favorite coat.  As I stated before, long coats are my JAM!  The perfect final piece to this outfit in layering for a fun mix is this faux fur stole.  I got the fun layering look I was going for while being stylish.  Most importantly I’m warm because this Philly weather has been BRUTAL!!!  Oh and ladies, we mustn’t forget tights!  I love these since they are close to my skin color but have a cute pattern. <— Thanks mom.

What are your thoughts on this look?  Better yet, how do you feel about layering?  If you have any questions or concerns I would love to help out in any way.  I know many people love and would like to try the layered look but don’t know how.

Thanks for reading!
