Finally time for my living room reveal!!! My best kept secret for the last 2 months and I’ve been dying to share it with you! Lowe’s reached out to me in April to explain to me a new project. They were searching for homeowner’s in the Philadelphia area that were interested in doing a home/room makeover. Naturally my first instinct was “is this a joke.” It was no joke. I was apprehensive at first because I don’t own my current space and that space was cluttered with endless amounts of my belongings. Well, I was in luck because they were interested in making over temporary spaces such as apartments and townhomes and I found out about gotstorageyet.com! Now I had to figure out which room to make over.
We (my boyfriend Sheldon and I) decided to choose the living room since it needed the most spicing up. Straight away my mind began to think quickly of sites similar to https://www.waysidefurniturehouse.com/accessories that we could give our living room a makeover with. After we choose which room to make over, I’m told the process will be filmed. I mean filmed like the HGTV home makeovers. Anyone else besides me obsessed with those shows!? The next step in the process was figuring out our style. Our amazing interior designer Monica now had to come up with a design plan. Of course I had a Pinterest board full of home inspiration should the opportunity ever come up for a home makeover (hey you never know). Clearly there is a lot of my style in the design but some masculine touches as well.
The makeover is for a new series called “The Weekender’. The design team had a weekend to complete our room makeover. Filming took place over the weekend. Sheldon really was a big help during the makeover process to finish off the space. He helped paint, upholster and did some arts and crafts during the process too.
You can learn more and see the actual episode here on the Lowe’s Home Improvement YouTube. I will link some of my home decor at the bottom of this post. I’ll also include it in the sidebar of the blog.
I think in the future, if we have another room renovation, it would be really cool to have a room converted into a Home Cinema! After seeing one at a friends house, I think it would be a great addition and a really good choice for entertaining guests.
