Refreshing Bare Wall Space. This post has kind of been long overdue. I finished this little project in the middle of January. Better late than never but wanted to share this small update that I feel made a big impact.
Before
Many, like my husband, will say that there is nothing wrong with this before shot. Clearly there was nothing wrong seeing as I lived with this for over a year. After being in this house and wanting to refresh the space, this bare space above this dresser has been bothering me. I got the idea to install shelving from the shelves that I installed in our kitchen. The same concept happened in there. Bare wall space that felt as if something was missing. I decided to go with the same shelves used in our kitchen but instead of the 24 inch ones from the kitchen, I measured out that 36 inches would be needed for this space. They are perfect!

After
Obsessed doesn’t even begin to explain how I feel. Now, I have since rearranged the items on the shelf and plan to switch it up by looking at some shelf styling inspiration on Pinterest. But can y’all see my vision come to life? Sheldon never understands when I have a design project in mind but he just lets me be. He didn’t care either way but he does like the new addition. I feel like it just completes the space ya know.

The photo below is how I currently have the shelves styled. I keep rearranging since I don’t want too many items of the same height or weight next to each other. I also need to add some book, lightweight of course, because I don’t want to make the shelves too heavy. It’s a small detail that really matters to me but I chose these shelves after searching and searching because they look almost identical to our floors. They also match back to the beam in our dining room and it brings me so much joy.

So what do you think? I know that I’m a little biased but I really think the shelves added so much to the wall and even warms up the space!
