Welcome to What to Wear Wednesday (WTWW)!  Today we are talking about the “flashdance shoulder.”  If you are new to the blog, my WTWW posts highlight items trending now, must-haves and the occasional “how to wear something different ways.”  I briefly covered this flashdance shoulder trend in last week’s WTWW post.  Now, let’s dive in a little deeper.

First off, Flashdance” was an 80s film in which the main character works a job in the steel mill by day and dances at night.  Yes total bada$$.  She famously wore this sweatshirt with the neckline cut so it hung off the shoulder…enter the ‘flashdance shoulder’.  Nowadays the flashdance shoulder is the new off the shoulder top.  Personally, they are more flattering for my shoulders since they are a little on the broad side #noshame.  If you are unsure about trying this trend, opt for a  shirt or dress like the one I am wearing.  It has a thin strap to make you feel like you are wearing a regular top.  Then the diagonal neckline giving it the flashdance flare.

My “top” is actually a dress but it was way too cold the day I was shooting to wear it as such.  This weather seriously needs to get it together.  I actually love the way it looks paired with the white jeans.  When the weather warms up, I’ll wear the dress alone to show you a different look.

I’m really hoping we got the last of snow because I am OVER it!  Is it too much to ask for Spring weather so I can wear these wedges for real!?  Hope y’all all stayed safe during yesterday’s snow storm.  Praying for sunnier and warmer days.

Thanks for reading!
