Beach Bag Essentials

Happy Friday!!!  Tomorrow I’m taking my talents to the beach and I couldn’t be more excited!!!  This will be my first beach trip of the year.  With that being said, I figured I’d come up with some of my beach bag essentials.

Old Navy tote

Beach Bag.  I just bought this bag and it is the cutest this ever!  I love stripes number one and then the pom pom closure is an added bonus!

One: Beach hat. I actually just bought a hat just like this from Marshalls and I can’t wait to wear it on the beach!  But these hats are perfect for not only being cute, but keeping the sun from burning your face.  Believe it or not, I get bad sunburn on my cheeks.

Two: Beach towel.  Need I say more

Three: Aviators.  Protect your eyes while looking stylish at the same time.  I love aviators, especially the mirror reflecting ones!

Four: Magazines.  I must catch up and keep up-to-date on the latest fashions while I’m sun bathing!  Plus, we all love to read the embarrassing stories section in Cosmo…admit it, you know you do!

Five: Cute cover up.  You don’t want to be that girl that goes into a restaurant in your wet bathing suit lol.  The cover ups now also can pass for dresses as well.  Funny story, I was so excited for this upcoming trip that I bought 4 cover ups from Marshalls!  Yes I was a little over zealous but at least they will make for good pictures!

Six: Tumbler.  When basking in the sun, it’s best to stay hydrated especially if you plan on drinking as well.

Now on to my smaller case which I usually use for accessories

One:  Cosmetic bag.  I haven’t gotten this particular case yet, but it’s going to be one of my birthday gifts to myself.  I also love this one.  Rather than lose your smaller items in a large beach bag, a smaller bag is best for accessories.  Best if lined, that way you don’t have to worry about sand getting on anything

Two:  Sunblock.  Name your favorite brand and you are good to go.  Personally I like the body mist ones so I don’t have to worry about rubbing anything in.

Three:  Lip balm with SPF.  I actually live by the Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Stick.  Be sure that whatever lip balm you use that it has SPF so your lips don’t get sunburnt.

Four:  Hair clips or hair ties.  Not everyone will look like a Victoria Secret model sitting on the beach.  I can just look at water and my hair starts to do weird things.  I’ve learned to have these on standby at all times!

Five:  Wide tooth comb or brush.  Like I said earlier, my hair does weird things at the beach.  Nothing will make me have an afro more than a thin tooth comb.  I like to stick to a wide tooth comb to prevent my hair from getting that way but also not get knotty.

Six:  Frizz Control.  I live by this serum!!!  I usually try to use a small amount, especially if I’m wearing my hair curly because this stuff really straightens your hair, it’s crazy!  I apply a little before I go to the beach and then once I leave.  It works wonders!

Seven:  Iphone or Ipod.  I can’t live without my phone.  And is anyone like me…I still use my 1st generation Ipod touch (insert embarrassed face lol).

So tell me, what are your beach bag essentials?
