One thing I am a sucker for is monochromatic looks and this bordeaux head-to-toe look is giving me all the feels! I don’t do it very often but sometimes it’s nice to switch it up. It’s hard to explain but putting this outfit together just felt right. Everything happened to have the perfect shades and textures. Naturally this calls for a moment. Let me explain. After adding these gorgeous velvet slides into my closet, I got a bright idea. Why not pair them with this amazing shirt that I also just got. It turns out that they are the perfect pair.
There is technically a “right way” and a “wrong way” to do things in fashion. Oftentimes things that aren’t supposed to go together just happen to work. Let’s take creating a monochromatic look. In my opinion, one right ways to do it is sticking to one shade head-to-toe. You could also stay in the same color family while mixing up textures. I chose the ladder. My bag, pants and hat are all giving the same shade and feeling of color. To make my outfit a little more playful, I chose to add some texture with this velvet shirt and these shoes.
To break the look up a bit, I added my favorite coat of the moment and I just love the way it turned out. Wait, can we talk about how cute these pants are for a sec. They are from Primark, so not able to be linked, but I love them!

The one person that I attribute my love of monochromatic looks to is my grandmom. Her favorite color is purple and she can rock it like no other person I know. Y’all, even the outside of her house was purple at one point! So, what’s your take on today’s look? Do you love it or hate it? Can you rock the monochromatic look?
