Finding the perfect way to ask your bridesmaids to be part of your wedding can be hard. After searching around I decided to make these bridesmaid baskets. I saw so many different options and decided to create my own version of a bridesmaid box. What led to this? The boxes that I had were different sizes and colors. I would have to duct tape every box so they would match. Seeing as I did this in 2 days, that was too much work. I decided to put my own spin on the normal bridesmaid box. BTW if you notice I tried to stick to my wedding colors which are red and light gray. If you are interested, here’s what you will need and where to get them.
- Baskets – Dollar tree $1 each
- Decorative Shred – Dollar Tree $1 each
- Colored duck tape – Five and Below $3.99 each
- Red sacks – AC Moore $3
- Blank cards – Dollar Tree $1
- “Will you be my bridesmaid glasses – AC Moore $3.99 each
- Ring pops – Five and Below $.99 each
- Nail polish – Five and Below 3 for $5
- Picture frames – AC Moore $2.99 each
- Wine ponies – Wine & Spirits
The first step is to wrap each basket with the duck tap of your choice. I realize that my tape looks like a candy cane lol.
Next, pour in the decorative shred. For each basket I used 2 bags of decorative shred. The more you use, the more full the basket looks.
Now add the picture frame, nail polish and ring pop in each sack. The ring pop represents me popping the question to each bridesmaid.
Add in the wine glass, wine, heartfelt note and there you have it.
Each basket took about 20 minutes. The wrapping of the duct tape obviously takes the longest. On Sunday January 8 I asked each girl to be part of the wedding. My cousin wasn’t able to make it but, here are my ladies!
Next up on the wedding to-do list…find a venue! We are going tomorrow to look at a place. Wish us luck because I really want to set a date as soon as possible and ease a little stress!
