Haha love the name Davida-Rita Margarita recipe? I was joking around on Instagram one day during happy hour time. It had been a while since I had tequila so I decided to make a margarita, which I love by the way. I called it a Davida-Rita because it’s my in twist on the traditional margarita recipe.
If you’re new here or did not know, I bartended for about 10 years. I also met my husband bartending. In my 10 years I’ve gained lots of knowledge about cocktails as well as ways to make them taste better for myself or others. Therefore I give you my own twist on the beloved margarita.
Ingredients:
- 2 oz Tequila
- 1 oz lime juice
- 1 oz triple sec or Cointreau
- 1/2 oz simple syrup
- Splash of orange juice
The Rim
- Sugar or salt
The Garnish
- Lime wedge or wheel
- Optional: lemon or orange wedge
Instructions:
Step 1: RIM YOUR GLASSES. Take the lime wedge and rub around the glass rim with it. Stick the glass in the rim of your choice, sugar or salt. You can also choose to not do a rim at all.
Step 2: MAKE THE MARGARITA. Combine all ingredients over ice into shaker. Shake well in a cocktail shaker. Pour into glass. You could also do the same if you want a frozen margarita but combine into a blender instead.
Step 3: ADD A GARNISH. For the sake of this post I cut my lime into a wheel, I think it photographs better. You could also just do a traditional lime wedge or optional lemon/orange wedge.
If you end up making this margarita, please send me a photo on Instagram so I can see. Also make sure you save the graphic below to your Pinterest so the recipe is one click away!
