Wow, what a moment in history yesterday at the Eagles Super Bowl Parade!!! Though I am slightly regretting my celebration choices at the moment it was well worth it. In case you live under a rock, the Philadelphia Eagles won Super Bowl 52 (LII) on Sunday night against the New England Patriots. Though people had some strange ways of celebrating the victory on Sunday yesterday was MUCH better. Nothing was lit on fire and no cars were flipped over. The parade was just pure joy and happiness in the city.
My cousin and I started the parade at the very beginning. To block off the streets, we were greeted by large trash trucks…smart. The shocking thing is that most of the people were at the Art Museum which is where the parade ended. It was great because we got to see the players and cheerleaders on their buses very early on. As the parade moved we tried to follow it up Broad Street…NOT AN EASY TASK.
What I did not get a picture of is “Philly Philly” that was written in the sky by a jet! Give me til the end of the day and I have a video coming!!! Anyway, the trains were free to ride but many of the stops were closed due to over crowding. We chose to live our best lives and get on the train anyway. The next stop was to Race/Vine which is as close to the ceremony that you could get via train.
There were people EVERYWHERE!!! I don’t usually like large crowds like that but this was an exception. People were standing on any and everything to get a glimpse of the buses or players. Glad we saw them at the beginning of the parade.
My cousin and I went to a local bar to watch the ceremony on TV. The speeches were great, some hilarious. Jason Kelce gets the MVP award for best speech. We also learned a new song which I will end this post on. “Noone like us, noone likes us, noone likes us we don’t care. We’re from Philly, f***ing Philly, noone like us we don’t care.” Hahahaha, I’m so happy I got to witness history. I wish you all a great weekend and I am going to find a detox to do lol.
