One of the main excuses for people (myself included) not working out is time. The other is money. Well, we live in the age of technology, so time and money aren’t valid excuses anymore. I’m holding myself accountable and for the month of February I am going to work out EVERY DAY! I don’t have a gym membership just yet and I love working out from home. So here are a couple of my favorite home workouts.
Pilates
Without a doubt Pilates has become my favorite workout to do. I think it’s from my dance training but it incorporates everything I love. It’s challenging, a full body workout so super effective in a short amount of time. Plus I love the fact that it focuses on strengthening while lengthening and toning. There is even some cardio added to the workouts too so it checks everything off my list. Currently I watch the 25-Minute Pilates Workout by Popsugar Fitness and the 45-Minute Cardio Pilates Total Body Workout.
Yoga
I gave yoga a try before Pilates. Yoga is great for balance and stability. It also helps to increase flexibility and makes you more mindful while controlling your breathing. While I appreciate yoga, personally it’s a little slow. I need a little more action in my workouts which is why I prefer Pilates. Yoga is great for days when my muscles are feeling tighter than normal or when I want to do a cool down. If you are interested, I do Yoga With Adriene.
