Happy Monday! I’m so excited to share Marketplace PHL Restaurant Week!!! As you may know, Philly has some amazing restaurants. The city has a restaurant week that now lasts two weeks. Well all my travelling followers look out….the Philly Airport also has a restaurant week! It started on October 11 and goes until this Friday October 18! If you are lucky enough to be travelling this week, I HIGHLY recommend stopping by the restaurants to try the restaurant week menus. Ok enough with the talking, let’s get to the food!
We only went to four restaurants that were participating in restaurant week but trust me, I had my fair share of food. Yes I ate ALL the food! First stop of the day was to California Pizza Kitchen located in Terminal E. They are serving 3 courses: first is the Sedona Tortilla Soup, second is the Chicken Avocado Club Sandwhich and last is the Butter Cake. The chicken avocado club is amazing and the butter cake is to die for. I don’t even eat dessert but this had me wanting more. It comes with ice cream served on top.
Next stop was to Bar Symon located in Terminal D. I loved the vibe of this spot because it’s like a sports bar. On the restaurant week menu: side salad, Pulled Pork sandwich w/ coleslaw and Fries and your choice of a fountain soda. The sandwich was phenomenal with all of the flavoring of the pork. The fries were also very good. I loved them because they were crispy and salted to perfection.
I thought this was our last stop but it wasn’t! We went to Bud & Marilyn’s located in Terminal C. This was my first time eating there but definitely will not be my last. The restaurant week menu here gave me all of the comfort food/I’m at my grandma’s house vibes. First course was Grandma’s Chicken Noodle Soup. It was so good and I loved the spiral pasta they used for it. It definitely made for a heartier tasting soup. Second course was the B&M Fried Chicken Sandwich which was amazing! Last was a New York-Style Cheesecake.
Our last stop of the day was Independence Prime located in Terminal B. Let me just say that I’ve never flown into or out of Terminal B but it’s like Narnia lol. There was a Gap, all of these amazing stores and then Independence Prime. For the restaurant week menu they had me at Short Ribs & Grits. I’m beyond obsessed with short ribs and my family is from the south so grits are my jam! The dish certainly did not disappoint and I took a well deserved nap when I got home.
So did I enjoy myself….YES! I’m so happy I got to participate in trying out the menus at these restaurants. If you are in the Philly Airport between now and Friday, do yourself a favor and try out one of the restaurants.
