Leggings, a staple for all and today I’m sharing ways to style maternity leggings. I’m also super excited to share that I’ve teamed up with my blogger friend Merrick who will be sharing four more ways to wear leggings.
Since Merrick is not pregnant and I am, I think between the two of us you should be able to find lots of outfit inspiration.
First off let’s talk about these leggings. I haven’t read too much into other mom bloggers and their preferences for maternity leggings but these from Old Navy are IT! They are currently on sale for $16 and regularly $19.99. They are a cotton/jersey material and the belly part fits over the bump. I’m currently 8 1/2 months pregnant and my pair still fit. I would say that they run true to your pre-pregnancy size. So if you were an XS pre-pregnancy then you would order an XS maternity.
Blazer and Heels
This is definitely a more office appropriate/date night look. The dressiest of the 4 ways but shows the versatility of the leggings. I paired it with a black tank and rolled it up a bit. If you don’t want to show that much of the bump you could wear it with a longer black top of your choice.
Graphic T-Shirt, Combat Boots and Backpack
Y’all know I have to throw an edgy look in there and I think that leggings go great with graphic t-shirts or sweatshirts. Here I tied up the t-shirt to accentuate the bump and you can see how high up that front panel goes on the leggings. Don’t be afraid to embrace the bump. Many tops are designed to be extra long for maternity. Tying up the shirt puts a fun twist on the leggings and I would do the same if I were styling a maxi skirt.
Teddy Jacket, T-Shirt and Booties
Teddy jackets and coats have been super popular so I had to show a look wearing one. This look could be casual or a little more elevated like I have here with booties. Honestly at this point I’m just excited to fit into my shoes so this was a win in my book. I also wanted to point out this top that I’m wearing. It’s new from Spanx and it’s called the “PLT” which stands for perfect length top. Again, even with my 8 1/2 month bump it gives great coverage and really is the perfect length because it’s a struggle finding t-shirts that are long enough.
Denim Jacket, Striped T-Shirt and Sneakers
I mean who doesn’t love a striped t-shirt? It’s definitely another closet staple to go along with your leggings. There are many ways to style it (coming next week) and I love how casual yet put together this look is. As you will see on Merrick, she styled her denim jacket by wearing it on. I decided to tie mine around my “waist” aka under the bump.
